Mixing Concrete the "Easy" Way...

Do you suppose the back end of a concrete mixer has some redeeming value as digital art? It looked pretty cool from my vantage point while I was trying to document the pouring of the floor pad for the workshop portion of our new house on the beach. I really had no clue how much work goes in to just making a floor out of concrete. At least if you want it to be level and smooth. There are lots more pictures of this whole process here. Even a couple of quick videos of the "airplane propellor smoother." And BTW, Karen reminded me of the "way things were" ten years ago when all the concrete for our 4,000 square foot "spec house" was poured by hand, bucket by bucket, up makeshift wooden ladders. There were no concrete mixer or pumper trucks on the Peninsula then... and the road was hell!

Nice smooth workshop floor...
